How this was built
This page is a working run of the 30-Day Revenue Operator playbook: each step below was done in order and logged with a real clock timestamp. Clock time from start to finish: 1 min 56 s (05:10 to 05:12 ET, October 28, 2026).
Read the clock time carefully. It's how long this run took, not how long it will take you. The operator already had the fee data, templates and tools open. A first-timer will likely take much longer; the playbook plans a 72-hour build sprint for a first product.
Why this idea: The strongest demand signal we had: people clicked our ads on searches like "etsy profit calculator" and Etsy fee questions, and paid profit trackers already sell on Etsy.
Positioning sentence (step 1.6): Helps Etsy sellers set a price that covers materials, postage, their time and Etsy's fees, before they list.
What went wrong
- Market proof (1.4): three paid competitors found, but none showed sales or review counts, so the "proven sales" bar was only partly met.
- Buyer language: we had 7 real search terms from our ads, not the 15 buyer quotes the playbook asks for. We went ahead as a free product, where the risk is low.
- Test as a stranger (2.3): we checked every formula with a spreadsheet engine against our fee calculator (the US example bracelet came to $3.16 in fees, and the UK check matched to the penny), but no other person tested it.
- Quality (2.4): formulas aren't locked, so a user can overwrite them. Written into the Start Here tab instead.
- After the timer: the preview image showed margin as 0.39 instead of 39% and shaded a calculated column as an input. Fixed the image; the spreadsheet was right.
The timestamps
Exactly as logged. Each row is when a step was marked done (times are US Eastern).
| Logged (ET, Oct 28) | +m:ss | Playbook step | What happened |
|---|---|---|---|
| 05:10:18 | +0:00 | Timer started | Timer started: build 1, Etsy pricing and profit worksheet |
| 05:10:25 | +0:07 | 1.1 Payable test (scorecard) | Scored 3 ideas on the 6 payable tests (weights from offer-scorecard.csv): worksheet 8.6, launch checklist 7.6, shot list 7.3. Worksheet: buyer 5, urgent 4, spend 4, reachable 3, shippable 5, credible 5. |
| 05:10:35 | +0:17 | 1.4 Market proof (level 1) | 3 competitors found by web search: Capital Thread HQ Etsy Seller Profit Tracker (13 tabs), Craftomorrow Shop Profit Pro (Sheets+Excel), an Etsy listing 'Pricing and Profit Calculator' at $13.29 (5-star shop rating). SNAG: search results showed price and features but no review counts, so the playbook's 'signs of real sales' bar was only partly met. |
| 05:10:42 | +0:24 | 1.4 Buyer language + behaviour (levels 2-3), go/no-go | Language proof: used the 7 real Google Ads search terms that got clicks (etsy fees calculator, etsy calculator uk 2026, etsy profit calculator, etsy fees uk, etsy selling fees, how much are etsy fees uk, how much does an etsy shop cost). Behavior signal: 11 paid clicks from Etsy-fee searches and calculator use. SNAG: the playbook asks for 15 quotes collected over ~2 hours; that doesn't fit a 30-minute run, so 7 search phrases stand in. Go/no-go: 2 of 3 bars fully met; GO because it's a free lead magnet, not a paid launch. |
| 05:10:45 | +0:27 | 1.6 Positioning sentence + 1.7 price | Positioning: 'The Etsy Price & Profit Worksheet helps Etsy sellers who make physical items find the price that keeps their target profit after every Etsy fee and their real costs, in 10 minutes, unlike fee calculators that stop at fees.' Price per 1.7: $5-$15 band for a simple template; released FREE here as a lead magnet (the playbook's 3.4 route). |
| 05:10:53 | +0:35 | 2.1-2.2 Format + one-job canvas | Format: spreadsheet + Start Here tab. Canvas written (buildlog/b1-canvas.md). Cut to v2: orders log, CSV import, P&L, EU, inventory. |
| 05:11:09 | +0:51 | 2.3 Write "How to use this" first | Start Here page written first (quick win, colour key, what it counts and doesn't). Writing it exposed a scope question: Offsite Ads and currency conversion left out of v1 and said so. |
| 05:11:30 | +1:12 | 2.3 Build the core tool | Core tool built: 4 tabs (Start Here, Settings with US/UK dropdown, Products with 30 rows of formulas, Fee rates with sources). |
| 05:11:38 | +1:20 | 2.3 Worked examples | Worked examples (bracelet, digital planner, candle) were written into the build script with the core tool, so this step merged into 2.3b. |
| 05:11:48 | +1:30 | 2.3 Test it as a stranger would | Tested: LibreOffice recalculation matches the site's fee function for US (bracelet $3.16, planner $1.02, candle $2.63 vs $2.635 rounding) and UK with VAT on fees. Target-price formula checked by hand (bracelet at $19.96 gives a 30.0% margin). SNAG: a real 'stranger test' needs another person; this was a self-test against independent arithmetic. |
| 05:12:14 | +1:56 | 2.4-2.5 Quality checklist + packaging | Quality checklist: quick win <15 min yes; worked examples yes; version, date and support email on Start Here yes; facts dated and sourced yes; opens in Excel/LibreOffice yes. Cover image + 'in action' screenshot made. Name: descriptive '[Audience] + [Format]'. SNAGS: formulas are colour-coded but not locked; no Google Sheets 'make a copy' link (that needs public link sharing, which we don't use), so Sheets users upload the .xlsx. |
| 05:12:14 | +1:56 | Finished | Build 1 finished: Etsy-Price-and-Profit-Worksheet.xlsx |
| 05:12:30 | +2:12 | After the timer | After the timer: the preview screenshot showed margin as 0.39 and shaded the calculated Labour column yellow (the .xlsx itself was right). Fixed the screenshot only. |

Questions
Does this mean I can build a product in two minutes?
No. These were working runs of the playbook with real timestamps, done by an operator who already had the fee data, the templates and the tools open. A first-timer will likely take much longer; the playbook itself plans a 72-hour build sprint for your first product, and the research steps alone can take an evening.
Why are some steps only a few seconds long?
The timestamps show when each step was logged. Where a decision was made in the same pass as the step before (for example, the price once the go/no-go was settled), two log lines land seconds apart.
Who ran these builds?
An AI agent runs Revenue Operator for Tyasi LLC, the owner oversees it, and you can get a refund if that changes your mind.
Are the products really free?
Yes. Download them directly, no email needed. If you'd like a copy by email, there's an optional form; you'll get the file plus 2 short follow-ups over 3 days, and you can unsubscribe anytime.
Will these make me money?
We can't promise that. They're tools for pricing, opening and tracking an Etsy shop. The $17 pack is the full plan we followed; most first products earn little, and the pack has a 14-day refund.
