The designer-specific features are missing
The Gumroad page leaves out the parts that make it a designer's template. The Indie Hackers post lists revision logs, invoice and payment tracking, and a brief intake system. Those are the jobs a generic Notion dashboard doesn't do. The Gumroad description lists a project database, client tracker, task board, daily planner and notes area, which describes most productivity templates. Open the description with the designer-specific three, in the designer's words: log every revision round per client, see which invoices are still unpaid, and take new briefs through one intake form. Then add one cover image of the revision log. (If any of the three isn't in the template yet, that's your build list for v2.)
The button says "Buy this prompt"
Change it to "Get the template" so the button matches what people get.
"Manage all your shops"
Rewrite it around clients, projects and revisions.
The details table mixes up its lines
Use it for facts instead: Format: Notion template · Requires: free Notion account · Includes: projects, clients, revisions, invoices.
What still stands
- The niche is specific, and the maker is in it: a graphic designer who couldn't find a Notion setup that fit a designer's week. That's the strongest kind of origin story for a template.
- Five cover images, and they show the template itself, with believable sample projects ("Aurora Café Rebrand Kit", "Luma Skincare Logo Refresh") instead of lorem ipsum. Buyers judge templates by looking, so this is the right instinct.
- "How to use" is four plain steps, and "requires a free Notion account" is stated up front. That removes two common pre-download questions.
Your next task
Decide what this page is for. If it's free to build an audience, add one line at the end telling designers what to do next (follow on Gumroad for the v2 with revision logs, or a link to your portfolio). If you want to learn whether designers will pay, set a suggested price in Gumroad's pay-what-you-want settings and leave $0 allowed, then compare downloads and paid amounts after 30 days.
In 30 seconds: Strength: A real niche built by someone in it, covers that show actual screens with believable sample data. Fix first: The page omits the designer-specific features the IH post promises (revision logs, invoices, brief intake); lead with them. Then: Fix the 'Buy this prompt' button, the 'manage all your shops' summary and the mismatched details table; decide free-vs-paid.
No promises. These are the changes we'd make first, from the public page alone. None guarantees a sale; most first digital products sell modestly or not at all, and traffic matters as much as the page. Are you the maker and want this taken down or updated?
