Payhip fees on common prices

What you keep per sale on each plan, before the monthly price. Card sales use Stripe's US rate (2.9% + 30¢); the PayPal column uses PayPal's US PayPal Checkout rate (3.49% + $0.49):

Which Payhip plan breaks even at what monthly revenue

SwitchExtra monthly costFee savedPays off above (monthly sales)
Free → Plus$293% of sales$966.67
Plus → Pro$702% of sales$3,500.00
Free → Pro$995% of sales$1,980.00

So the free plan is cheapest below about $967 a month in sales, Plus between about $967 and $3,500, and Pro above $3,500. Stripe and PayPal fees don't change these points because they're the same on every plan.

Payhip, Lemon Squeezy, Gumroad or your own checkout?

Payhip gives you a full store with instant payouts and no monthly fee to start, and its percentage drops as you grow into a paid plan. FAQ

What are Payhip's fees?

Payhip has three plans with the same features: Free Forever ($0 a month + 5% transaction fee), Plus ($29 a month + 2%) and Pro ($99 a month, no transaction fee), per payhip.com/pricing (checked October 27, 2026). On every plan, Stripe or PayPal also charge their standard processing fees.

How much do I keep from a $20 sale on Payhip's free plan?

With a US card through Stripe (2.9% + 30¢): Payhip takes $1.00 (5%) and Stripe takes $0.88, so you keep about $18.12. Paid with PayPal at its US PayPal Checkout rate of 3.49% + $0.49, you keep about $17.81.

When is Payhip Plus or Pro worth it?

Processing costs the same on every plan, so only the Payhip fee and the monthly price matter. Plus beats Free once you sell about $966.67 a month ($29 ÷ 3%). Pro beats Plus at $3,500 a month ($70 ÷ 2%), and beats Free at $1,980 a month. Below about $967 a month in sales, the free plan costs least.

Does Payhip handle VAT and sales tax?

Payhip says it automatically collects, reports and remits EU/UK VAT and US/Canadian sales tax on your behalf, and lets you set up other taxes, which it reports to you. Its pricing page doesn't say whether the transaction fee is charged on the price or on the total including tax, so the calculator applies it to the price.

When does Payhip pay me?

Payhip says sales are deposited to you immediately after each transaction, through your connected Stripe or PayPal account, so there's no Payhip payout schedule to wait for.

Is Payhip cheaper than Gumroad or Lemon Squeezy?

On the free plan with a US card, a $27 sale keeps about $24.57 on Payhip, against $25.15 on Lemon Squeezy (5% + 50¢, processing included) and about $22.72 on a direct Gumroad sale. The calculator shows the same comparison at your price.
